McAuliffe Pig Farms, a proudly family-run enterprise based in Castleisland, Co. Kerry, has been
named a finalist in the Family Business Awards 2025, shortlisted in both the Agri Family Business of
the Year and Farming Family Business of the Year.
This recognition highlights the farm’s long-standing commitment to sustainability, pig health and
welfare, and responsible farming practices. Guided by what they call their four pillars of
sustainability – Pigs, Planet, Profit, and People – McAuliffe Pig Farms continues to set benchmarks
for modern, progressive agriculture in Ireland.
At the heart of the business are father and son Mike and Shane McAuliffe, who work with their
dedicated team to ensure the farms not only thrive today, but also remains resilient and future-
focused for generations to come.
Speaking about the nomination, the McAuliffe family said:
