Over the years, we have hosted and participated in numerous research trials in partnership with many organisations and academic institutions:

These projects have focused on a range of topics such as pig nutrition, gut health, antibiotic reduction, alternative feed ingredients, environmental emissions, and animal welfare improvements.

EU-Funded and Academic Research Projects

We were the research site for the ThriveRite EU Project, which focused on innovative feed and management strategies to improve pig performance while lowering environmental impact.

We are also excited to be joining the SC Protein project, a new initiative led by University College Cork (UCC), aimed at exploring sustainable circular protein sources and their applications in pig diets and beyond.

On-Farm Clinical Trials for Agri Companies

We offer a unique opportunity for companies to carry out clinical research trials on-farm, providing real-world commercial conditions to test new products, technologies, or innovations. Our experienced team and modern facilities ensure high standards of data collection and animal welfare throughout every trial. These research trials usually begin each spring where we have students on placement from UCD and MTU.

Driving Circular Innovation

As active members of the Circular Bioeconomy Cluster SouthWest, we are committed to advancing circular and bio-based solutions within agriculture. Our work supports knowledge sharing and innovation that benefits not only our farm but the wider farming and food ecosystem. We also sit on the International Advisory board of the Circular Bioeconomy Education Centre, a national initiative bringing bioeconomy learning into schools, industry and lifelong training to build a skilled, sustainable future.
